Commissioning a portrait
Commissioning a portrait is an intimate and rewarding experience that captures not just a likeness but the essence of the subject. When you choose to commission a portrait from Laurel Dawn Art, you’re investing in a personalized work of art rich with vibrant color and thoughtful detail. Each piece is crafted through careful observation, blending light and shadow to bring your vision to life in a way that feels both timeless and uniquely you. Whether for a loved one, a special occasion, or a meaningful self-portrait, the process begins with a conversation to understand your story and preferences, ensuring a final piece that resonates deeply and becomes a cherished part of your collection.
All portraits are painted with professional watercolors on acid-free, pH-neutral Arches paper to ensure they last. It’s best to mat the portrait and use UV-protective glass in the frame. Avoid placing it in direct sunlight to prevent fading.
Alternatively, the painting can be mounted on a wooden cradle board and placed in a floating frame, which means no glass is needed.
