Commissioning a portrait

Commissioning a portrait is a personal, rewarding way to capture someone’s spirit, not just their face. At LaurelDawnArt you’ll get a vibrant, detailed painting made from careful observation of light and shadow. It starts with a conversation about your story and wishes so the finished piece feels timeless and truly yours—perfect for a loved one, a special occasion, or a self-portrait.

Portraits are painted with professional watercolour on acid-free Arches paper for long life. Matting and UV-protective glass are recommended; avoid direct sunlight. Or the painting can be mounted on a wooden cradle board and shown in a floating frame without glass.

Sizes and Prices

Listed prices are for single subjects with either a white or simple tonal background. A 30% non-refundable deposit is required to confirm your place in my calendar. Shipping costs will be the responsibility of the purchaser. Please ask for a quote. Local delivery may be possible. Balance is due upon completion and before delivery. Pricing is dependent on subject(s).

• 16” x 20” - suitable for multiple subjects

• 11” x 14” - suitable for a single or double subject

• 8” x 10” - suitable for single subject

Other sizes available upon request. When choosing your size please remember that your portrait may increase in size by 2-4” IF you decide to matt and frame behind glass.

DELIVERY

I will confirm when I expect to complete your portrait when you book. Once started, I will keep you up to date with regular work in progress photos via social media or email if you need to keep it a secret. If you have a specific date such as Christmas, birthday etc., I’ll do my best to accommodate your request.
