Commissioning a portrait

My goal is to provide you with a lasting keepsake of your pet or person, which you’ll be proud to display and share with friends.

The realistic details of your portrait are directly related to the clarity of the reference photo, especially the eyes and nose. If you supply photographs that you didn’t take yourself please ensure that you have written permission from the photographer for me to use them.

All portraits are painted on Arches watercolor papers using Winsor and Newton Professional colors. The paper is acid-free, pH-neutral and non-yellowing so you can be assured of the longevity of the portrait. All portraits should be matted to provide the necessary “breathing space” between glass and paper and also UV resistant glass should be used in the frame. As with any watercolour do not display in direct sunlight which will fade your keepsake.

Sizes and Prices

Price includes your pet/person portrait mounted on a gallery depth cradle board with black or natural finished edge and mounted in floating frame. Listed prices are for single subjects with either a white or simple tonal background. A 30% non-refundable deposit is required to confirm your place in my calendar. Shipping costs will be the responsibility of the purchaser. Please ask for a quote. Local delivery may be possible. Balance is due upon completion and before delivery.

  • 12” x 12” = $250

  • 10” x 10” = $200

  • 8” x 8” = $175

Other sizes available upon request. When choosing your size please remember that your portrait may increase in size by 2-4” IF you decide to matt and frame behind glass.

DELIVERY

I will confirm when I expect to complete your portrait when you book. Once started, I will keep you up to date with regular work in progress photos via social media or email if you need to keep it a secret. If you have a specific date such as Christmas, birthday etc., I’ll do my best to accommodate your request.
