The Canadian Society of Painters in Water Colour, founded in 1925, is a key part of Canadian artistic heritage, with members across Canada and abroad. Its founders—F.H. Brigden, A.J. Casson, Franklin Carmichael and C.W. Jefferys—shaped Canadian art. Their aim: “To recognize, encourage, and nurture excellence of work in the watercolour medium.”

This annual exhibition showcases the quality and longevity of CSPWC/SCPA. Watercolour, used for millennia, gained modern sophistication and has recorded much of Canada’s history—from early topographical painters to today’s masters. While welcoming international entrants, the show mainly reflects contemporary Canadian watercolour across the country.
